Wrightwood -> Big Bear

Halloween! Hiking out of town in costume. It was a bit hot in there, but I did manage to keep it on all day.

Made it to the Mcdonald's a half mile off the PCT at Cajon Junction. Had a large meal and charged our phones up a bit. 
Camped at the trailhead picnic area right next to the freeway so we could hit the Mcdonalds again for breakfast the next morning

Next day following Deep Creek towards Deep Creek Hot Springs. We made it to the hot springs by lunch and hung out there for a couple hours. Fun spot with hot tub temperature springs, some little cliffs to jump off into the cold creek, and a few kinda out there locals to make conversation with. Didn't take any pictures since it's a clothing optional area.

Swapped into the laundry outfit. The Laundromat didn't have a place for me to charge my phone so I had to go loiter in the Starbucks while doing laundry. A guy in Starbucks thought I was homeless and offered me $2, I explained I was hiking the trail but I don't think he really followed and insisted I take his $2. It paid for the dryer lol.
Met back up with Foggy, Mclovin, and Tigger for lunch and then we all hitched out back to trail that afternoon

I decided to make this blog to document my southbound thru hike of the Pacific Crest Trail. My hope is that this will be a good way for friends/family to follow along with my hike, be fun for me to look back on afterwards, and also give me something to work on when I'm bored in my tent. PCT Days 1-6: Harts Pass -> Northern Terminus -> Stehekin

Getting to the trail I met up with my friend Adam in Seattle. We drove out to Mazama and camped on some national forest land on the Methow River outside town over 4th of July weekend. Thanks again Adam! Adam then dropped me off at The Lions Den hiker hostel/camp in town. It's a cool spot run solely on donations with everything a hiker could need; a place to pitch a tent, laundry, a shower, bikes to get to the store, and daily rides to the trail. Had a lot of fun meeting other hikers and hanging out for the day. The hiking A fun fact about the northern terminus of the PCT is the closest access point on the US side of the border is 30 miles south at Harts Pass. So if you want to tag the border you get to hike 30 bonus miles to the terminus and then turn around to start hiking south. They're some pretty cool miles though, I didn't mind walking them twice. PCT Days 24-27: White Pass -> Trout Lake

My day at White Pass started out great. The nobo and sobo crowds are beginning to run into each other so there were plenty of hikers around to hangout with. I even ran into a guy I met on the Colorado Trail last year! However, I began to feel nauseous towards the end of the day. I couldn't sleep and by 3 am I was up vomiting all the good town food I'd eaten. I was feeling okay by 9 am though and had kept my breakfast down so I decided to hike out and take it slow. I did 12 miles and while I was tired, I didn't feel sick so I thought Id be good after a proper night's sleep. Unfortunately I ate dinner, slept for 2 hours, and then felt sick again and all the food I'd eaten that day came back up. I was able to sleep through the rest of that night though and the next morning I felt a bit better.
